Le groupe a officialisé son entrée en studio pour enregistrer un nouvel opus.

"For those of you who are interested, yes, we have been VERY busy
writing and putting songs together for the next studio Mastodon album,”
confirm the band in their statement. “We are down at our space hammering
out riffs that can be friends and working our fingers to the bone to

Ce nouvel album qui fera suite à 'The Hunter' sorti en 2011, sera le 6ième du groupe.
(Le groupe sera présent au Sonisphère d'Amnéville le 9 Juin au côté de Stone Sour, Megadeath, Iron Maiden...)
